Why I decided to sell gold
When I was a teenager, I did something really stupid one day. On the day of my first communion, and I was nine years old at the time, I got an expensive present. One of my uncles is my godfather and he decided to give me a gold necklace and a pair of gold rings. I liked the gift but was too young to wear jewellery, so my mum just put it in a box in hid in a chest of drawers. Then I forgot all about it. Four or five years later, I came across the box accidentally while I was looking for something in the old chest of drawers. I opened the box and saw a nice necklace and a pair of rings. I thought to myself, why not sell gold? I needed money at the time to buy some ‘necessary things" like a new album of my favourite pop group or same fashionable clothes. I also liked showing of a bit, to be honest. I decided that since that was my gold, I could do whatever I wanted with it, and I thought I was mature enough to sell gold by myself. The gold seemed a bit old-fashioned to me and I was sure I would never wear it. I took the necklace and the earrings to school on the next day and sold them to a classmate. I got some money for it, today I don"t remember how much, but the funniest thing is that I could only buy a couple of CDs and a new pair of shoes for it. My parents got really mad when they noticed! It was a present from my uncle, that was one thing. And I sold it for just a few pounds!
