More on the financial translation lecture

We only knew that the man who was supposed to give the lecture was a Spanish specialist on financial translation. A hundred of people filled the hall, and among them were us, ten people from year one at the university. We were all somehow forced to attend the lecture. Our classes had been cancelled on that day and our teacher informed us that taking part in the lecture was our duty. So we did as we were told. But if truth be told, none of us was interested in the subject. My best friend, Ginny, was sitting next to me, bored as hell. We were not going to become translators, but our studies were somehow related. Anyway, the topic of Financial translation was something we were completely uninterested in. However, when the man finally appeared in the hall, we knew straight away that it would not be wasted time for us. His sense of humour was incredible. He talked about his job as if it was the most fascinating thing in the would. And he could explain some of the terms in such an easy way that even we, absolute laypeople, could understand everything. I guess we need more teachers and lecturers like that. People who know how it is to become a beginner. I don"t think I am going to become a specialist on financial translation myself, but I admired the person very much.
