How free driving instructor training helped my parents
My parents own a small driving school in the city centre. Recently I"ve been thinking about their career. As a child, I was never really interested in how they became driving instructors. Their career started years before, when I was still a toddler. Yesterday my dad told me about their first steps. Twelve years ago, they were both unemployed. My dad had lost a job as a taxi driver and my mum had been working as a physical education teacher, but the school was going to be closed by the authorities. One day my parents saw an advertisement which said free driving instructor training. They didn"t believe the information was reliable, of course. They were sure there were some hidden costs. It turned out that a local driving school was looking for people who would like to become instructors. They were offering free courses for people who were unemployed and had some experience as drivers. Both my mum and dad had been driving licence holders for years, so they didn"t hesitate. The free driving instructor training could only be offered to ten participants who enrolled early enough. My parents were lucky, there list had not yet been filled. This is how they became driving instructors. Two years later, they started their own business which soon turned out to be a huge success.
